Basic Setup of MediaTransfer on your iPhone or iPad

Granting access to Camera Roll

Setup MediaTransfer

To get to the settings screen, swipe your finger from the bottom of the screen to the top of the screen. This opens all the settings for MediaTransfer.

For MediaTransfer to work, you need 3 or 4 things at most filled in at the top of the screen.

Ftp path, username and password

Optionally you may need to turn off passive mode, depending on your server setup.

MediaTransfer should work with just about any FTP server - we have users using it with their Internet Service Provider's servers over the Internet. Be aware that the FTP protocol passes your username and password in the clear if you do this.

If you use a Mac or PC that uses DHCP to get an IP address, we recommend using your computer name so that the iPhone can resolve the IP address each time.

Usually the computer name can just be entered with .local as a suffix for things to work. eg:  ftp:// yourpcname.local

You can find the name listed at the top of the Sharing preference pane of OSX, or the top of the Network and Sharing control panel in Windows.

Note: If you see an error on the main screen stating "No access to camera roll granted", please check out the video to the right titled "Granting access to Camera Roll" to fix the error.
