Movie playback skips when TokenLock checks for my device

This is an issue with Bluetooth and Wifi:

Because both 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless technology share spectrum they may interfere with one another. This happens when TokenLock tries to poll your Bluetooth device.

It sends a BlueTooth message, which can overlap in the same frequency as your WiFi. When this happens, your WiFi may have to re-transmit the data it was sending.

If that data happened to be part of a real-time video stream, it can actually interfere.

Solution:

Move to an 802.11n solution like the Airport Extreme and make sure all your devices are operating at the 5GHz and not 2.4GHz band.

(Hold alt and click the Airport icon on your menu bar  and you can see what band you are using:

You can see fromt he above graphic that this Mac is connected at 2.4GHz, which is the same spectrum as Bluetooth. You want to make sure you connect at 5GHz… or connect with an ethernet cable.
