MediaTransfer uses the FTP protocol to allow your iPhone or iPad to talk to your computer. FTP is the standard internet File Transfer Protocol, and we chose it because you can use it with Macs, PCs and most internet service providers. FTP has been around since 1971... its a very well known file transfer method.
